Question: cooling system
I have been losing anti-freeze, about a pint to a quart a week. I took it to my HONEST & TRUSTED mechanic and he tightened up the hoses, did a pressure test. No foam on the dipstick, no film on the window, no wet floormats, VERY LITTLE on the garage floor. When driving, the water temp needle will go all the way to H and the heat starts blowing cold, then it will come down and starts blowing warm. Then goes back up, blows cold, down, warm.
Another problem is when I start the car and let it warm up for 3-5 minutes, it will idle from 500 to 1500 to 500 to 1500 to 500 to 1500 then I will take off driving and it drives fine until the water temp starts its stuff.
ANY answers????
